Health is one of the 17 focus areas of the EU and everyone knows the challenges ahead in this area. With a growing share of the population being elderly or in need of health services, we need to think innovativly for the future of healthcare.
The Nordics is a place with a strong reputation for quality, dependability and trustful relations. It has also been identified as a place for competence and infrastructure for new, innovative business. To stimulate this a new Health Incubator is starting up in Oslo Science Park, close to the University in Oslo, research centers and hospitals. The incubator is to be a hub of innovation and upcoming companies that will build the future in our business. The initiative is supported by public institutions and commercial companies, and has three equal owners: Inven2 (TTO), Oslotech (founder of StartupLab) and the cluster Oslo Medtech.
The incubator will be the home of 60-80 creative people, from 20-50 companies. To be a part of the incubator the company have to have a good, healthrelated idea/product/service, in need of supportive services and willing to share own knowledge and participate in the community. The real value of being a part of an incubator is not only the support you get from mentors and professional services, it is also what you learn from start-ups and more established companies that you work side-by-side with. The incubator will be co-housing with Growth House, with more mature health companies. And sharing knowledge and experience will be one of the founding principles in both incubator and Growth House.
The doors will officially open on October 1st, but companies will start moving in from the middle of August. A team of an incubator leader and community manager will be there to welcome the companies and make sure they enjoy the new community they are a part of. And to secure deal flow and more exciting companies to join. Would you like to know more about this? Don’t hesitate to contact Oslo Medtech by e-mail: email@example.com.
